I saw the comment you left on ~cipriany's car render, and it didn't look like anybody answered your question, so I thought I'd help. What he used is a HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image). It's something that can be used as a background for rendering of CG models like your Ford Capri. This background surrounds the model and is often used for the lighting source of the model. Go to this site: [link] and they offer free HDRI's for your use. In fact you can see the one that ~Cipriany used, called The Old Industrial Hall. I haven't set one of these HDRI's up before, but I plan to in the near future.

On that site, I think there are directions, or tutorials on how to set up a HDRI in your file. ~Cipriany should have mentioned where he got it from, as a thank you to the website, and because it's a credit to them.

Anyway, I hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks alot!

I'm not very good at modelling environments....mainly cos i'm not very good at getting textures looking natural, so thankyou for directing me to that website, i'll take a look and try to get another render of my capri up :)

Thanks again.
Hey, you're welcome! Textures are hard, but it's like a lot of things - Practice, practice, practice.

I took a second look at that info on the website and I see that they want you to use their program and stuff, so it's a little more complicated than I thought. Again, good luck.
Hey, do you even still use this account?
Yo,

Yea i use it but dont come on much.
I figured...

You really should put more stuff up Paul. What you got so far s pretty good!
Yea, i need to start drawin again.

I do need to keep drawin, practice makes perfect after all.

I'll do something specially for you lol watch this space :P
